STOTT PILATES™ – INTENSIVE REFORMER COURSE IR

This course is intended for those already working in the fields of fitness or movement, as well as those who are unable to devote the time required in our Comprehensive Program due to work and/or scheduling issues. Conducted over 3 weeks or 4 weekends. Building on your industry knowledge it teaches you to design and lead the Level 1 Essential and Intermediate STOTT PILATES Reformer repertoire for personal or group training settings for a range of clients. You will leave with a solid foundation and required skills to develop effective and motivating Pilates Reformer programs. While IR may be taken prior to IMP, we recommend completing IMP first.

Master-Instructor-Trainer: Kim Kraushar

Kim has built an impressive reputation as an expert and leader in the health and wellness industry. She is a Merrithew™ Master Instructor Trainer and an integral member of the Programming/Education team, representing STOTT PILATES®, ZEN•GA®, CORE™ Athletic Conditioning & Performance Training™, and Total Barre™ programming. Kim is the proud owner of one of the first STOTT PILATES Licensed Training Centers in Canada. She presents on behalf of Merrithew throughout North America and internationally at conferences and trade events, and is featured in several new Merrithew DVD releases. Kim studied at York University where she received her B.F.A. in Dance/B.Ed. and completed her B.Sc. Kinesiology at Dalhousie University. She is also a Yamuna Body Rolling Certified Instructor Trainer, and Certified Franklin Method Instructor.

Requirements of certification

  • 50 hours of instruction and supervised teaching
  • Minimum of 10 hours of observation
  • Minimum of 40 hours of physical review
  • Minimum of 25 hours of practice teaching

IR1 – Module 1 & IR2 – Module 2

To help accommodate your schedule, we also offer Intensive Reformer in two modules – IR1 & IR2. Key learnings are the same as the full course. Completion of both modules is required to be eligible for certification. IR1 is a pre-requisite of IR2. Both modules must be taken within 6 months of each other.

IR1 – Module 1

Provides the solid foundation and skills needed to develop effective personal training programs. Learn to design and teach the Essential portion of the Level 1 repertoire with 74 unique exercises plus multiple modifications and progressions.

  • 30 hours of instruction and supervised teaching
  • Minimum 6 hours observation
  • Minimum 25 hours physical review
  • Minimum 15 hours practice teaching
  • Total: 76 hour

IR2 – Module 2

IR2 expands on the foundation and skills developed in the first segment as you learn to design programs incorporating the Intermediate repertoire. Learn 65 unique exercises plus multiple modifications and progressions.

  • 20 hours of instruction and supervised teaching
  • Minimum 4 hours observation
  • Minimum 15 hours physical review
  • Minimum 10 hours practice teaching
  • Total: 49 hours

STOTT PILATES® Optimization of the Lumbo-Pelvic Region: Part A & B

This two-part lecture/demo, developed by the MERRITHEW™ team, explores the anatomy and biomechanics involved in a normal healthy functioning lumbo-pelvic region then applies these fundamentals in an effort to optimize function.

Part A – Form & Function

This covers the functional anatomy and therapeutic foundational concepts within the context of the lumbar spine, the pelvis, the hip and all associated musculature.

Part B – Programming & Application of STOTT PILATES Exercises

This applies the theory learned in part A and attempts to identify programming priorities and determine appropriate exercises designed to optimize the function of the lumbo-pelvic region.

This course is intended for those already working in the fields of fitness or movement, as well as those who are unable to devote the time required in our Comprehensive Program due to work and/or scheduling issues. Conducted over 3 weeks or 4 weekends. Students registering for this course must have completed Intensive Mat Plus or Intensive Reformer. The Cadillac, Chair, & Barrels course has been structured into three separate modules; ICAD, ICHR and IBRL, to give you maximum flexibility. Completion of all three modules is required to be eligible for certification.

Während dem Abschluss ihres BWL-Studium an der University of Windsor in Kanada, startete Sarah Jarvis mit Aerobic und Krafttraining. Nach Abschluss ihres Studiums zog sie nach Toronto und unterrichtete dort Fitness-Kurse.

In Toronto entdeckte Sarah das STOTT PILATES™. Sie entdeckte eine neue wirksame Methode mit Schwerpunkt Geist und Körper, und war vom Anfang an begeistert über diese Low-Impact Methode.

Sarah hat ihre STOTT PILATES-Zertifizierung im Jahr 2004 abgeschlossen und begann ihre Arbeit beim STOTT PILATES Corporate Training Center in Toronto. Sarah ist seitdem STOTT PILATES Instruktor Trainer in Mattetraining, Reformer, Cadillac, Chair, Barrels und V2 Max. Sie unterrichtet mit Begeisterung viele Instruktoren und Studios auf der ganzen Welt!

  • schriftlicher Test: Multiple Choice ( 2 Stunden)
  • praktischer Test: Haltungsanalyse für eine Person, Entwicklung eines optimierten Übungsprogramms sowie Training dieser Person (1,5 Stunden)
  • Die Prüfung erfolgt ca. 6 Monate später in englischer Sprache,. der Termin wird zwischen Prüfungsexperte und Schüler individuell vereinbart. Die Prüfung kann auch per Video eingeschickt werden.

Nach erfolgreichem Abschluss der Prüfung darf sich der Teilnehmer STOTT PILATES™ Certified Trainer für IR nennen.
